DESCRIPTION:
The basic function of the Senior Accountant is to direct the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders and the financial community by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
• Collaborates with company president to develop and execute programs that enhance profitability and cash generation; lay the ground work for meeting / exceeding budgets and identifying areas for cost reduction.
• Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit tax, accounting, real estate, and insurance activities for the organization.
• Directs the accounting staff in providing and directing procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
• Appraises the organization’s financial position and issues periodic financial and operating reports.
• Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget programs.
• Analyzes, consolidates and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
• Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business and financial conditions and their impact in the organization’s policies and operations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
BS Degree required an MBA is preferred with at least 5 years relevant financial management experience.
Must have experience working for a manufacturing company.
