Share Senior Linux Kernel Developer - So Cal (Irvine) Opportunity


Established memory component maker located in the heart of Orange County California is growing its embedded software group and is seeking a senior developer with an expert knowledge of Linux Kernel development and Linux Device Drivers. The desire developer will have 8 plus years of hands on (full life cycle development) Furthermore, this candidate will need to a strong command of both verbal & written communications, and be comfortable with engaging with management, other departments and team members. All program coding will be down in C | C++, Perl, and Tcl Scripting.
The embedded candidate should know the following:
• Extensive knowledge of Linux kernel internals
• Expert knowledge of Linux kernel memory management
• Expert knowledge of Linux storage stack including block and file interfaces
• Ability to modify and extend Linux kernel
• Ability to debug kernel level problems
• Linux device driver development
• x86 MMU architecture
• x86 cache and memory architecture
• Multicore / Multithreaded application development
• Understanding of data coherency issues in an SMP environment
• Analyzing and debugging system performance issues
• Performance profiling, performance tuning in a multicore environment
• H/W board bringup experience
• Strong problem solving and analysis skills
Education:
• BSEE or BSCS Degree, advanced engineering degree preferred.

Highly Desired experience:
• Hypervisors
• Windows device driver development
• Windows memory management
• Windows storage stack
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
• Experience establishing a software development process
