Job Description
• Partners with developers, testers, product management in developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases
• Bring a strong sense of talent, determination in quickly acquiring a working knowledge of our business and testing processes
• Interface with development team in developing highly readable and well documented bugs which can be easily reproduced
• Demonstrate drive in creating best practices and advocate these amongst the team
• Develop new methods of testing multiple branches of code which increase the team’s overall testing velocity
• Develop automation using both home grown tools, freeware, and commercial ones (Test Partner)
• Participate in requirements/design/code/test plan reviews and assist with scheduling and planning
• Evangelize quality at every step of the QA process, but also understand the pragmatics of getting out a release on time

Required Skills/Experience
• 5+ years experience in manual and automated testing in the following areas:
o GUI based applications, client server, web applications
o N-tier architectures utilizing backend relational databases
o Enterprise based testing featuring distributed processing, collection and synchronization of data to a centralized repository
• Precise documentation skills with attention to detail and nuances
• Strong problem analysis and problem solving skills with the ability to do root cause analysis
• Expert in determining the: testing process, test coverage, and test cases
• Successfully document defects in a manner which is well understood by our development partners
• Good understanding of TCP/IP networking, including: LHOST, DHCP, DNS, and WINS
• Working knowledge of 32/64 bit Windows Server (2003, 7) and UNIX (Suse Linux preferred)
• Highly capable in querying records in MS SQL and MySQL
• Working knowledge of J2EE, JBOSS, Websphere, MQ Series, and DB2
• Exposure to retail store inventory or supply chain management (including forward and reverse logistics) is highly desirable
• Ability to work under time constraints, be flexible and have a “can do” attitude in working with cross functional teams is highly desirable
