<p> Finishing Manager-Folding Cartons</p><p> Summary Oversees and manages the department production functions, developing progressive plans for the improvement and maximization of resources and fulfilling capacity potential.</p><p> Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Ability to read and comprehend the schedule to determine the sequence of production. 2. Ability to read and interpret job order specification sheet to determine needs for off press and die cutting. 3. Ability to review and interpret the production map. 4. Ability to use a hand truck, fork truck and scissor lift 5. Complete paper work for production tracking 6. Proper use of chemicals and ability to read and comprehend MSDS 7. Complete paper work for production tracking 8. Ability to assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues on the finishing equipment. 9. Assess current staffing and train new staff members 10. Support/assist duties required for Continuous Improvement through training employees for compliance. 11. Insure quality verifications and checks are achieved in department. Work with employees, QA, and Plant Manager to facilitate process improvements 12. Maintain scheduled production to meet customer quality and delivery expectations. 13. Supervise preventive maintenance activities in department. 14. Work with external suppliers on opportunities and problems. 15. Participate in evaluating, hiring, and discipline of department production workers. 16. Support Safety Program. Act as a First Responder. 17. Order supplies for department. 18. Manage and support production employees to gain favorable results. 19. Support and direct continuous improvement activities in department/plant. 20. Investigate root causes and provide corrective/preventive actions for identified issues</p><p> </p><p> Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
