<p> Mechanical/Chemical Process Engineer Direct Hire Permanent Richmond, KY 40475</p><p> Must be a US Citizen</p><p> Relocation is AVAILABLE</p><p> Project: BGCAPP (Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant)</p><p> ~ Engineer In Training (EIT) may be required. ~ Professional Engineer registration is preferred.</p><p> DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p> Completes a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Successful candidate will become the technical expert for one or more process systems. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site location is expected. Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Proficient in development and interpretation of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), database applications. Ability to resolve/disposition Process/System Safety issues in the design. Prepares Mechanical and Process engineering computations and calculations. Prepares material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Experience in Systemization and Operations: troubleshooting equipment and systems, process improvement initiatives. Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments. Extracts relevant information from design documents generated by sister disciplines. Interprets laboratory study reports and extrapolates the information to the design. Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials, technical bid evaluation and post award technical evaluation. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and junior Engineers working on the same project. May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters. Prepare and deliver formal presentation to senior management and client. Prepares technical studies as required. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.</p><p> EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 4-year degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or related field) and approximately 5 years of related work experience. Engineer In Training (EIT) may be required. Professional Engineer registration is preferred. Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. Experience with computer modeling and familiarity with discrete events simulation. Experience with iGrafix highly desirable.</p><p> SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: BGCAPP is subject to the Army Regulations (AR 50-6 Chemical Surety and AR 190-59 Chemical Agent Security Program) which govern persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP). Depending on the work performed and the access granted a government security investigation and other physical requirements may be mandated. Eligibility to be placed in a CPRP or UAP position requires US citizenship and the ability to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Local Credit Check. (NACLC). BGCAPP is a Drug Free Workplace. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. This position may also require use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and personnel must pass a respirator fit test and pulmonary function test. Climbing: Occasionally. Bending/Kneeling: Occasionally. Sitting: Infrequent. Walking/Standing: Frequently. Hearing: Able to hear audible alarms. Vision: Able to see/read/understand warning lights/signs. Ability to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) site access is required. Access requirements include completion of a local records check and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check. BGCAPP operates on a 24/7 schedule including weekends and holidays. Ability to work a flexible schedule may be required.</p>
