<p>Director, Payroll and A/P- Base pay up to 105K + bonusLarge Health System - Detroit locationRelocation Assistance Available</p><p>Growth opportunity to join a sophisticated, complex health system withPOSITION SUMMARYDirects the personnel, operational and financial activities of Payroll and A/P.Oversees or directs the development of policies and procedures for Payroll and Accounts Payable. . Oversees the development of functional processes.Develops short to long range goals and measures for area of responsibility and oversees the assessment of goal attainment.Develops, seeks approval of, monitors and ensures compliance with budget for area of responsibility. Develops policies, long and short term goals, objectives and strategies for the Payroll and Accounts Payable function.Monitors operations to ensure goals are achieved.Assists the VP, Finance in the development of broader policies, goals and objectives based on strategic plans.Directs the review, audit and processing of vendor invoices and reimbursable employee expenses in conformance with established accounting principles, contracts, policies and procedures.Directs the review, audit and processing of payroll, payment of all payroll related taxes and deductions and filing of required tax returns in conformance with established accounting principles, contracts, policies and procedures.Directs the review and processing of all employee W-2 forms and vendor 1099 forms and the related reporting required for each. Reviews the accuracy of reports used for the preparation of the general ledger reporting systems.Provides expert technical guidance to all levels of management within the organization on payroll and accounts payable policies, programs and practices.Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and internal policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.</p><p>REQUIREMENTS</p><p>Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline</p><p>5-7 years experience in payroll and A/P</p><p>2-3 years of managing a team</p><p>Experience in a hospital/health system preferred.</p><p>At least 3 years of payroll management experience in a large, complex organization (e.g. more than 10,000 employees, more than 7 entities, more than 12 department FTEs)</p><p></p>
