Director of Financial Reporting - CPA Jobs

<p>Major Media Firm is currently seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to manage all aspects of financial reporting with the SEC for the company and stays current on technical accounting issues related to application of US GAAP. This position will interface with operations and other functional areas of the company in fulfilling its responsibilities.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p> Ownership of the SEC Reporting process, including maintenance of the SOX narrative and cooperation with Internal Audit for SOX walk-throughs and testing; ensuring all key controls within the SEC Reporting process are performed properly and timely. Prepare all SEC filings, including, but not limited to, Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K for Earnings Releases Comply with XBRL reporting requirements Providing support to Legal Counsel to prepare PROXY statement and Forms 3 and 4, as needed. Lead the application of technical accounting and financial reporting activities for the Company, including resolution of issues as they arise. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key functional departments, including but not limited to Senior Management, Operational Accounting, Business Development, Investor Relations, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and External Counsel Manage the maintenance and creation of corporate accounting policies, including internal documentation on all complex accounting issues. Completion of quarterly and annual reporting to lenders in accordance with credit agreement, including debt covenant compliance and reporting of financial results. Liaison for the Companys external tax team and responsible for accurate preparation of work papers to prepare tax provision and tax returns for the Company. Coordinate and/or address all tax related inquiries. Monitor new accounting, financial reporting, and compliance guidance and evaluate potential impact to the company. Assist and manage support for registration statement filings as required Coordinate with Investor Relations and assist in preparing and publishing the quarterly earnings release. Assist in managing responses to regulatory bodies involving financial reporting information Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the Companys quarterly reviews and year-end audit. Due Diligence on potential acquisitions, Working Capital calculations and Purchase Accounting transactions and Memos as well as other ad-hoc initiatives for Senior Management.<p>Qualifications:</p> Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree CPA is Required 10-15 years of accounting/financial reporting experience Intermediate to advanced understanding of US GAAP codification and interpretations Detailed knowledge of XBRL reporting requirements and execution Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, team player, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary with an ability to interact effectively with all levels of management Intermediate to advanced excel and data management skills Strong analytical and organizational skills Easily establishes a rapport with others, as well as builds effective business partnerships Requires a high ethical standard and ability to work with confidential information Able to achieve results through influence without direct reporting lines or control of resources Overtime required during peak reporting periods<p></p><p>Salary is up to 160K</p>
