Quality Control/Logistics Coordinator

SUMMARY:
Represent company's interest at the Port of Wilmington. Oversee and/or perform quality testing on the incoming pellets. Act as the liaison with Enviva, Control Union, and CSX regarding incoming shipments, unloading, quality metrics, and railcar return.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Be present when rail cars are received at the Port.
•Work closely with companies regarding the quality of the product
•Communicate daily with Mill personnel on activities and finding.
•Test and inspect product in rail cars, domes, and ship cargos to determine and maintain quality and reliability. Record findings.
•Use various equipment and gauges to ensure conformance with specifications and established quality standards.
•Maintain quality assurance operations by following existing policies and reporting needed changes.
•Participate in cross-company efforts to resolve quality issues, including participation in meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:
•Associate's degree, or the equivalent, in a science-related field
•Ability to obtain a TWIC card, which requires a federal background check for access to the port.
•Valid driver's license and personal transportation
•At least five years of logistics and wood pellet quality control experience, preferably involving rail transportation and Port requirements
•Knowledge of wood pellets and related quality standards
•Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
•Familiarity with SAP
•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Must be flexible and able to work when needed, including nights, weekends and holidays, as the work dictates.
•Travel to Greenwood as needed.
