<p>We currently have a full time permanent position for an AV Field Engineer in Garnet Valley, PA.</p><p>SUMMARYThe Field Engineer is an experienced technician with experience in system installation, cabling, wiring and troubleshooting audio visual systems or IT networks that has a keen attention to detail and a growing passion for the development of software solutions for control or sound processing. This person would be responsible for configuring, editing and debugging the various systems that the company installs. On the job training is on-going and development of the role will be ever evolving and challenging. The position requires travel to field locations on a regular basis. This position is based out of the Garnett Valley, PA location and requires regular onsite client visits.</p><p></p><p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSProgramming TasksDebug audio applications by setting up appropriate equalization and tuning for the respective field space in each of the software languages standard for the industry, namely Crestron & AMX, among others.Software simulation and testing both in-house and on-site for quality assurance and customer approval purposes.Graphical user interface adjustments as directed in the field.In consultation with the Software Developer, performance tuning and balancing of communication to/from devices for optimal operation, usability and automation.Complete paper, PC or mobile device documentation of software functionality in the form of customer userguides, internal functional explanations as relates to problem solving and in communication with clients for unique operational walk-throughs.Evaluate existing systems and reverse-engineer the system in order to provide the Software Developer with accurate information to write a new code from scratch for functionality.</p><p></p><p>System Commissioning TasksWith expert detail, complete via paper, PC or mobile device all forms and documentation related to the entire test and tune process that is performed in the field on all systems.Configure all devices installed to their optimal settings.Load and configure Control & DSP codes.Thoroughly test and force-fail all systems for quality control purposes both in-house and on-site. Communicate via email and phone with Software Developers, Lead Installers and Installation Manager as to conditions with the systems or troubleshooting techniques performed.Open service tickets with manufacturers, and troubleshoot with manufacturers while on site via phone.Communicate via email and phone with Service Department personnel on system settings and conditions upon completion of system commissioning.Communicate via email and phone with Systems and Design Engineering about system operational questions or concerns.</p><p></p><p>Networking TasksCreate local area networks for the sole purposes of communication among devices being installed at a client location that is completely separate from their existing network infrastructure.Create WLANs for wireless communication of devices.Communicate via email and phone with client IT staff members regarding specific system requirements, problems, potential short-term and long-term issues, etc.</p><p></p><p>General Office TasksComplete accurate timesheets throughout the day and on time using internal web-based time tracking solution (supports mobile capabilities).Other duties as assigned by the Installation Manager or the VP of Technology Services.Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessaryAdhere to company handbook and associated policies</p><p></p><p>ANCILLARY JOB FUNCTIONSRecommend field or software changes that will result in better performance overall of the systems or the ability for the team to perform the installations.Other duties which would improve the operability or launch of any newly installed systems.Understanding of OSHA and other Safety regulations,Perform Service calls.Perform customer training.</p><p></p><p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAn equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be consideredExperience communicating with IT professionalsExceptional organizational skills & attention to detailExceptional problem solving skillsExperience balancing heavy workloads at varying times throughout the yearPreferred thorough understanding of network standards and practicesPreferred experience reading, understanding and explaining audio visual engineering system drawingsPreferred experience with line of business databases and data managementPreferred certification, knowledge and understanding of Polycom, Tandberg, Crestron, BiAmp, AMX, BSS and/or ClearOne software, and acquire other certification and/or training as business need arisesValid drivers license and excellent driving record</p>
