<p>We currently have a full time permanent position for an AV Field Service Technician in Garnet Valley, PA.</p><p>SUMMARYThe Field Service Technician is a mid-level technician with experience in technology installation, customer service, cabling, wiring and troubleshooting systems or networks. The ideal candidate is someone that has a keen attention to detail. This person would be responsible for altering the configuration, troubleshooting system failures and debugging the various systems that the company installs. On the job training is on-going and development of the role will be ever evolving and challenging.</p><p></p><p>JOB REQUIREMENTSSelf-motivated employee who has demonstrated success working on their own or working with teamsExtreme attention to detail and documentationAbility to explain complex functionality to internal and external clientsAbility to interpret and convey a thorough understanding of system requirementsExperience communicating with IT professionalsExceptional problem solving skillsExperience balancing heavy workloads at varying times throughout the yearExcellent driving recordPreferred thorough understanding of network standards and practicesPreferred experience reading, understanding and explaining CAD functional, riser, and architectural drawingsPreferred certification, knowledge and understanding of Polycom, Tandberg, Crestron, BiAmp, AMX, BSS and/or ClearOne software **On the job training provided for the right candidate if necessary**Above all, outgoing and willing-to-learn attitude for on-the-job professional development</p><p></p><p>OBJECTIVES/TASKSField Programming TasksAbility to troubleshoot & debug applications in the field in each of the software languages standard for the industry, namely Crestron, Extron & AMX, among others.Graphical user interface adjustments as directed in the field.In consultation with the Software Developer, performance tuning and balancing of communication to/from devices for optimal operation, usability and automation.Evaluate existing systems and be able to reverse-engineer the system in order to provide the Software Developer with accurate information to write a new code from scratch for functionality.</p><p></p><p>Field Service TasksEffectively and systematically troubleshoot systems and identify the potential causes of failure in order to establish the initial possible failures and then be able to test each and every one of those potential points of failure thoroughly.Complete, in great detail, all forms and documentation thoroughly as to the entire service and troubleshooting process that is performed by you in the field on all systems.Configure all devices installed to their optimal settings.Load and configure Control & DSP codes.Thoroughly test and force-fail all systems on site.Communicate with Software Developers, Lead Installers, Installation Manager and Service Manager as to conditions with the systems or troubleshooting techniques performed.Open service tickets with manufacturers and troubleshoot with manufacturers while on site via phone.Communicate with Systems and Design Engineering about system operational questions or concerns.Recommend field or software changes that will result in better performance overall of the systems or the ability for the team to perform the installations.Other duties which would improve the operability or launch of any newly installed systems</p><p></p><p>Networking TasksCreate local area networks for the sole purposes of communication among devices being installed at a client location that is completely separate from their existing network infrastructure.Create WLANs for wireless communication of devices.Communicate with client IT staff members regarding specific system requirements, problems, potential short-term and long-term issues, etc.</p><p></p><p>General Office TasksAbility to enter timesheets throughout the day and on time using web-based time tracking solution.Other duties as assigned.</p>
