Director of Brand Development Jobs

<p>Major Consumer Goods company is seeking a Brand Development Director to be responsible for providing strategic direction to our business from a sourcing, budgeting, product and relationship development and profitability perspectives. The position requires strong negotiation skills and interpersonal dexterity to manage portfolio(s) and brand performance on both the supply and sales ends. The position reports to the SVP Brand Development & Planning.Responsibilities:</p> Create, establish & maintain strong top to top relationships with our products suppliers as well as our sales force & distributor network. Develop yearly budgets in conjunction with clear supplier support in order to drive to sales target and in alignment with brand strategy. Work with PBI marketing to plan, develop, execute and monitor effective marketing programs creating efficiencies and superior sales, profits and cost performance. Understand portfolio holes and develop sourcing initiatives to bring strategic brands into our portfolio. Design processes for conducting quarterly and annual reviews with suppliers, sales and our distributor networks. Develop portfolio strategy for our brands in synchronization with overall company goals with crystal clarity regarding business results and budgetary performance Maintain flexibility to change and re-direct goals as necessary. Understand cost components, logistics and the connection between the order & inventory pipeline with the sales velocity, seasonality and geographical sales dispersion of our portfolio & brands. Financial accountability for the overall portfolio with proactive and responsible attitude ensuring the translation of insights into execution. Challenged to deliver incremental revenue (supplier contributions, marketing accruals, reduce depletion allowances & other local spending without suffering loss of volume). Lead best practices across the entire supplier and customer base in relation with our business developing solutions while applying efforts in compelling, strategic & innovative ways. Sell company initiatives upstream and downstream creating alignment and the PBI fit in the three tier system for our business.<p>Educational Qualifications & Experiences:</p> Bachelors of Business Administration in finance, marketing or related field and 8 years experience in the CPG/Wine industry. A working knowledge of the wine industry in relation to the import function, preferred. A clear understanding of the three tier system and the regulated nature of the industry with a focus on legal compliance strongly preferred. A fluent knowledge of MS Office and end user enterprise planning systems such as Cognos, Business Objects or Hyperion. Strong organizational, communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to act strategically and tactically in the performance of the job. Proven people management skills and strong interpersonal skills to relate cross-functionally in a fast paced business environment. Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking and prioritizing workload while keeping in check quality and time constraints. Ability to manage and measure workload for self as well as direct reports and keep senior management abreast of all issues/developments. Facilitate knowledge and process sharing across the organization. Strong communication ethic in getting back to customers, suppliers and internal company personnel. Ability to develop and interpret reports evaluating the performance of business functions and initiatives. Support the companys executive leadership with needed information regarding the state of the business to facilitate decision making. Experience with business process development and continuous improvement in the managing of day to day business. Experience dealing with creating influence without authority needed internally (within PBI) and externally (outside PBI) to succeed in this position. A sense of positive urgency in executing everyday responsibilities.<p>Salary is up to 170K</p>
