<p>Environmental Health & Safety - Construction (AM) AP6417117</p><p>Smithfield, RI 02917</p><p>16 Month Contract</p><p>Skills: Basic Qualifications:</p><p>HS diploma or equivalent with 10-20 years directly relevant experienceOSHA 10 Hour Training.OSHA 30 Hour Training.First Aid Training.LOTO Authorized Personnel Training.</p><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><p>5+ years of EHS experience in Pharma, Biotech or similar regulated industry.Successful candidates should also possess:Experience working in team environmentStrong communication, organizational, and analytical skills -Exhibit an ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm</p><p>Duties:</p><p>Project EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Engineer with Construction Management experience The Project EHS Engineer will be a key member of the Capital Project Management Group, responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety, policy/procedures, report creation, training, auditing, guidance and tracking. The EHS Engineer will also assist project managers with EHS advice for construction, commissioning/qualification and operational readiness. The role will be shared reporting to the Project Manager and Site EHS leadership. A key part of the Project EHS engineers role will be to train and encourage proactive safety and environmental observations in order to have early correction of issues to minimize the risk of potential injuries and environmental incidents.</p><p>Work in collaboration with the Construction Management Contractor to ensure there is a robust EHS Management System and safe system of work for construction activities Drive EHS best practice for construction site logistic, EHS communications and EHS engagement Support the Construction Project Safety Leadership Team (SLT) by attending the meetings, completing the site walks and inputting into the development of the construction safety programme and monthly safety topics. Ensure there is a system of coordination and planning for the interface between the Construction Project and existing manufacturing operations to ensure the safe systems of work of both organizations are aligned Ensure the EHS metrics reflect the management of EHS through the project lifecycle construction and CQV (Commissioning, Qualification and Verification).</p><p>Implement a system of review and checking to ensure the safe system of work is in place for the project lifecycle and compliance with environmental requirements/pollution prevention with on-time closure of actions Work in collaboration with the CQV Contractor to ensure there is a robust EHS Management System and safe system of work for CQV activities aligned with theSafe System of Work for sustaining activities.</p><p>Ensure there is a process in place to ensure safe start-up prior to commissioning activities and before bringing systems/equipment online.</p><p>Ensure there are plans in place for emergency events and where required preparedness drills executed.</p><p>Ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA and State of Rhode Island regulations.</p><p>Ensure that all incidents/near misses are properly investigated, root causes identified and corrective/preventative actions identified and tracked.</p><p>Ensure any behavior based safety programs for the project are implemented as outlined by the Construction Management Contractor and /or CQV vendor.</p><p>Ensure is alignment on the handover of the EHS systems between the Project (Construction & CQV) and Manufacturing Operations.</p><p>Education:</p><p>High School diploma with relevant experience Bachelors highly desirable in a technical field such as Construction Management / Engineering</p>
