Responsibilities in this area include establishing detailed program timing, preparation of engineering development plans, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external customers and liaison with manufacturing operations to support new product launches.Support design, validation and release of airbag inflator assemblies in accordance with the Global Development Process and Product Introduction Management System (GDPIM).Inflator ballistic tuning to meet system-level occupant restraint requirements, release of engineering drawings and documentation including test plans and reports.Responsible for planning and tracking prototype builds to assure on-time delivery to customers.Use of engineering tools such as fault tree analysis, DFMEA, statistical analysis, root cause analysis and margin testing. Application of Six Sigma tools in support of engineering efficiency and production process improvement projects, including Six Sigma Green Belt certification.Participate and support assigned Simultaneous Engineering Teams (SET).Management of engineering development projects including value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) of inflators and components.Effective communication and participation within global Inflator Engineering project teams. Conversational German language skills preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills</p><p>Must have strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of physics and engineering principles. Knowledgeable of basic statistics and statistical analysis. Computer skills, including Minitab, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint CAD software experience a plus. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Self-starter, good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.</p><p>Must have hand dexterity at moderate speed with accuracy for half of each day. Requires steady, active effort and continuous walking. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in all areas of the plant. </p>
