At the Charleston, SC facility, the Bosch plant has manufactured high quality automotive products for more than 40 years. With a history steeped in innovation, the plant specializes in advanced products, such as antilock braking systems, gasoline fuel injectors, and diesel fuel injectors. We pride ourselves as a non-union plant and promote a team oriented environment. The facility is equipped with state of the art automated production equipment and technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provide materials analysis technical support for: corporate purchasing (CP) projects and topics, ChP Plant production and quality departments, as well as manufacturing/quality support for all Bosch divisions/facilities in North and South America.
•Provide materials technical support, with focus on metallurgical support, for: Material release resting, materials characterization analysis, materials failure analysis with root cause identification, contamination analysis and materials research analysis. Support work will focus on utilizing the capabilities in the CP/TEC1-AM lab, CP/TEC1-AP Shanghai lab, CR labs in Germany and outside 3rd party labs.
•Provide support to CP/TEC1-AM to assist the team achieve target conditions: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Data Security, Point-CIP via Heijunka/Jidoka Board daily meetings and System-CIP via value-stream-design workshops.
•Provide technical leadership to the materials analysis technicians with: Development and training on new testing methods, implementation and training on new testing equipment, equipment and supplies sourcing, PQI writing and reviews, Laboratory Scope and audits, resolving equipment problems, materials technical consultation.
•Provide materials engineering input and support for the selection/evaluation of metal materials that fit the needs of new or existing product & part applications.
•Participate in technical reviews of supplier materials processing in support of CP/TEC2-AM Localization Material and Process team, while enhancing technical knowledge of the Materials Testing lab in: Melting, casting, refining, molding, quenching, rolling, extruding, forging, cold working, deep drawing, heat treating, plating, welding, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering with Metals Major or Metallurgical Engineering
•Knowledge of metallurgical materials science (plastics knowledge a plus): Processing, Structure, Properties
•1+year experience working in a materials testing laboratory on metals analysis including hardness, chemical, mechanical, micro structure interpretation. Knowledge and experience in ICP analysis will be an advantage
•Good verbal/written communication and presentation skills
•Excellent teamwork skills with strong focus on customer-orientation
•Strong and creative analytical and problem solving skills
•Manage time effectively and meet project deadlines
